The Law of God shows us and we feel the terror in our being. That's what has to happen with us, it has to scare us by our conscience telling us what's wrong. Then we must realize the blood of Christ and its ability to cleanse us. Until we've been washed ourselves, we’ll know nothing about the blood of Jesus Christ. We need to feel it personally… there are two great lessons a person must learn in life and learned by experience before they can be a Christian. First, we must learn that sin is a terrible, awful, evil thing. Second, we must learn that the blood of Christ is a very precious thing. Now you take them and pull them apart and push them back together and you'll see. If you get that, you're going to be on the right track. (Excerpted from the sermon, "Have We Felt It?" August 20, 2023).

When we were children, we learned our A,B,C's. And in learning the alphabet, we found that these letters made up words. Those words make up languages; more words than we can comprehend. That's the way it is with God's love. It just goes on and on and on and on. Just like everything we say and write depends on the alphabet, everything hinges on God's love. (From the sermon, "The Dimensions of God's Love," March 6, 2022).

Self contentment is a shirking of the battle. Some people shirk repentance and holy care by believing they already have the only sanctification they will ever need. They get justification and sanctification mixed up. They do good deeds and they think that is all that is needed. By doing this, they keep themselves away from the necessary work of the Holy Spirit ... they will do the work of the Lord in many ways but they do not want to hear about personal holiness.
